8. Merida

To set the stage a bit better for my rankings, I want to say I was born in 1995, as a teen or young adult I missed some movies like Brave and when I had my daughter I went back to watch them. This movie was one I watched for the first time just a few weeks ago! While I loved the animation, I have to admit though I was not a fan of the story.

The only reason Merida is over Belle on this list is because of her archery skills. She is a phenomenal archer and maybe in the setting of a zombie apocalypse, her issue of being married off would be solved. However, it doesn’t change the fact she turned her mother into a bear!

Now, of course, she didn’t know that this spell laced pie would turn her mother into a bear, but you got a random pie, from a random WITCH in the woods. This could be a poisoned pie, it could kill her whole family. She had my heart with her plight at first, and I was actively cheering her on when she won her own hand in marriage. My goodness though, it takes your mother turning into a bear for you to work things out?

This is another story that might actually be better for her case if magic was taken away. No magic, no momma bear. I hesitate to say I want her on my side during the apocalypse though, I worry that while she can kick some serious walker tail than anything agreed on by the council she didn’t like might end up getting several people killed.
