We have entered award nomination season and once again Melissa McBride and the other talented actors of The Walking Dead have been shut out.

Having been a fan of the show and especially the work of Melissa McBride, its frustrating to see her work be overlooked. Through the seasons we’ve watched Melissa bring the many facets of Carol to our screen. No matter how dodgy the writing can be at times, Melissa has consistently given it her all.

Through moments of awe-inspiring strength and triumphs to  soul crushing loss and sadness, each moment leaves me either cheering for her or wishing I could give her a much-needed hug.

Her talent has inspired not only legions of fans but also a wide range of actors from the show and outside The Walking Dead Universe, including writers (Stephen King) and directors (Bryan Fuller).

So why do the awards folks constantly drop the ball when it comes to Melissa and The Walking Dead?

Is it the genre?

The fact it’s a “zombie show”?

Some other reason?

Whatever the reason, it’s a shame the various award committees consistently choose to ignore this amazing actress.

For your consideration here are some moments  I felt deserved if not a win, at the very least a nomination.
