Which Christmas movie characters would survive on The Walking Dead?

It’s time for the holidays! Let’s take a look at some of our favorite Christmas films and find 10 characters to bring over to The Walking Dead to fight walkers!

Grab your family, cuddle up with some hot cocoa, and read this article together to get you in the holiday spirit! When sitting down and brainstorming characters from Christmas movies that would do well in the apocalypse, I found myself writing down characters from this holiday genre that I simply just enjoyed. Needless to say, my notebook is full of names crossed out.

It’s certainly not two categories one typically tries to mesh together so it was hard to ignore some of my favorites to go for people who would survive a walker war. I also am more of an alternative person, but for this, I wanted to go a more traditional route. These will all be from movies you can sit around and watch with the family. So apologies to all of my fellow Die Hard and Gremlins fans, characters from those didn’t make my list. (Don’t worry Gizmo, this doesn’t mean I love you any less!)

This was also tough for another reason, most Christmas movies set up a story of learning and compassion, characters might not start out on the right path but by the end of the movie, they make it there. I will only be picking one character per movie on the list, and for some, the most popular was not picked. Being that the main character often learns a lesson they have capable people beside them guiding the way, so I’ll be showing love to some under-appreciated people as well!

For this list, I steered away from villains and I am going mainly for more luminary characters. Like mentioned before some of these characters weren’t the best people at first, so they could also give the appearance of an anti-hero since at some point they were their own antagonists.

Since a huge part of Christmas is the magical feeling it gives so many people, it would be unfair to judge these characters without the magic abilities. Magic will be a huge part of this list! Lastly, for the top three characters, I will also be placing them in a community.

Settle in your blanket burrito and dive into number 10!
