Which Christmas movie characters would survive on The Walking Dead?

10. Ebenezer Scrooge

This is certainly one of the characters I was talking about when I mentioned some being the antagonist of the own story. However, when I was watching this movie, one of our VERY beloved characters came to mind. That was Hershel. I think a long time with Ebenezer Scrooge would prove to include a huge redemption arc!

I realize the comparison of Scrooge to Hershel for some might be downright offensive. I totally understand that. Hershel grew into a character that was universally loved. I have never met a person who disliked Hershel Greene at the end. He was a beacon of light on the dark and a person many people looked too for guidance.

However, it doesn’t remove all the bad from his past. Just because we didn’t see him at his worst doesn’t mean it wasn’t there. Before Maggie was born he was an alcoholic. His first wife had passed before the apocalypse started so we never got a chance to hear stories from her about these times.

We do know that she often kicked him out of the bedroom at night for being too drunk and that at one point he had pawned the silver pocket watch he gave to Glenn because of something related to drinking. When Maggie was born he did quit drinking. When we meet him he is a stubborn man who had a huge barn full of walkers.

He might be our most beloved now, but he did come with his flaws much like Scrooge. Scrooge could end up filling that same mentor role. He could become a leader like Deanna was. Much like Hershel, He would have the same abilities in fighting walkers but his main strengths would be used in other areas.
