Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead, will be bringing another comic book series to life after Universal and Skybound partnered to create the film Stealth.

Comic book movies and television shows have been dominating the world. The success of properties from the Marvel and DC universe, as well as Robert Kirkman’s The Walking Dead, has brought comic adaptations to the forefront of entertainment.

Recently, Deadline confirmed that another of Kirkman’s properties will be brought to the screen. This time, it will be the Robert Kirkman and Marc Silvestri comic book series Stealth after coming from Universal and Skybound.

Interestingly enough, the Stealth comic series will be released by Skybound and Image Comics on March 11, 2020, meaning people won’t need to catch up on the print version before the film is released.

Deadline says Iron Man writers Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby will be scribing the screenplay with Lee Daniels of Precious and The Butler signed on to direct.

The story of Stealth sounds unique enough to be compelling with a twist to the superhero formula by humanizing the main character and his family and adding plenty of drama and intrigue to what is already an interesting premise.

"“For decades, Stealth has waged war on crime in Detroit, but now he’s taken his pursuit of justice too far. Only reporter Tony Barber knows that behind Stealth’s reckless behavior is an older man battling Alzheimer’s—his father. A father unwilling to accept that he’s no longer the hero this city needs… with enemies all too eager to force his retirement.”"

Comic fans should be sure to reserve their copy of Stealth #1 at their local comic shop using Diamond Code JAN200138 to prepare for the big-screen edition of the story. For a preview of the issue, check out the official website of Skybound!
