The Walking Dead 2020: Judith’s New Year’s resolutions
2019 is almost over and it’s time to make resolutions for The Walking Dead characters in the New Year. Here’s what Judith needs to do in 2020.
Judith has come a long way on The Walking Dead. After the major time jump in 9A, fans saw a young lady who is quite capable of taking care of herself. However, the danger has never been greater and Judith needs to be ready for what’s coming. Here are the top resolutions that Judith needs in 2020.
Keep The Faith
One of Judith’s biggest strengths is that she is the embodiment of the best traits of the people around her. She has Carl’s heart, Rick’s sense of justice and Michonne’s strength. She’s like a tiny little Captain Planet who can go from adorable to shooting Negan off of his motorcycle in the blink of an eye.
Judith has a very unique perspective because of her age and because she’s incredibly pragmatic. She’s not blind to what’s happening around her, and thanks to her family’s influence she still has a sense of optimism that is needed to keep on carrying on. With war on the horizon, Judith’s optimism is needed now more than ever.
Learn As Much As Possible
Watching Judith fight is something to behold Cailey Fleming is a gymnast and you can see how her gymnastics training comes into play with her fight scenes. Knowing that Danai Gurira’s Michonne is set to depart at some point in 10B, Judith’s future is uncertain.
Assuming that she doesn’t end up going with Michonne (because we don’t want to lose Judith!!!) then Judith needs to continue her training so that she grows into an even more skilled fighter. In this world, you need a combination of brains and braun to stay alive and Judith is already on the right path.
Guardian Angels
Fans know that Michonne is a very protective mother. After all she has been through, this isn’t surprising.
Judith’s early days were spent with Tyreese, Carol, Daryl, Carl, Rick and Michonne watching over her, along with the rest of the community. However, during the time jump the relations between communities cooled and she didn’t see Daryl and Carol as much, and obviously Rick and Carl are gone, too. Judith had a guardian angel in Negan, but he’s gone, too.
There’s hope that Negan is working the Whisperers to keep Judith and the community safe. Given his dedication to young people like Judith, Lydia and RJ it doesn’t seem like he would lead Alpha into Alexandria without knowing that this would put them at grave risk. As guardian angels go, Negan was a good one for Judith. He felt responsible for her to some extent, and she would benefit from having him around because he doesn’t pull his punches and he treats her like an adult, both of which are essential for survival in this new world.
What would you like to see from Judith in 2020? Leave your ideas in the comments!
The Walking Dead returns February 23 at 9pm on AMC.
