The Walking Dead franchise might be 17 years old in 2020, but there is no reason to think the media juggernaut will lose steam in the new decade.

It’s hard to believe The Walking Dead comics debuted in 2003. Considering how much the franchise has grown and evolved over the course of its life, it’s amazing to see fans still loving the undead drama heading into 2020.

While the comics did come to an end, the tradition of enjoying Robert Kirkman’s zombie universe is very much alive. The flagship AMC television series will broadcast the second half of season 10 in 2020 and the story is captivating audiences thanks to revitalization from Angela Kang as showrunner, excellent casting, and a captivating story involving multiple characters.

Not only is that show going strong, but two other shows in The Walking Dead universe will be on televisions in 2020. Fear the Walking Dead will be entering its sixth season and a new show titled The Walking Dead: World Beyond will be making its debut, giving zombie fans options and allowing them to find the shows that best suit their interests.

Plus, the movies based on Rick Grimes are in production. While there haven’t been official release dates for them, they should be well-received by fans who are curious about what the protagonist is doing and who the people are that flew him away from his friends and family for medical treatment.

As if three television shows and movies aren’t enough to get fans excited about the future of The Walking Dead, the future is bright for gamers as well. Mobile games like Our World, Road to Survival, and No Man’s Land still have many active players while new additions such as Onslaught and Saints & Sinners should help the games evolve.

It’s a great time to be a fan of the #TWDFamily and the future is bright for the franchise as it heads into its 17th year of existence.
