The Walking Dead will return for the second half of season 10 soon and a new teaser video reminiscent of the movie Sin City should have fans excited.
The Walking Dead is a dark show in both presentation and content. Fighting against undead and human enemies while trying to find your place in the apocalypse is a real challenge for even the strongest of survivors.
At this time, our favorites from the AMC zombie drama are pit against a group of humans who can hide among the undead and even weaponize large groups of the flesh-eaters to wreak havoc on anyone who doesn’t do as they say.
The show has been on break for a while, but it set to return soon and an artistic, yet familiar, teaser video for the second half of season 10 offers a different look at what to expect in the season’s final eight seasons.
Here is a look at the video as shared on the official YouTube channel of The Walking Dead:
The artwork in this video is visually stunning. The splashes of red in the background not only are reminiscent of the blood that has been spilled or will be in the future but the contrast against the black and white images of the popular survivors helps make them pop out even more as the outlines turn into life-life images.
Using black and white mixed with red is an art style that was made popular in the 2005 film Sin City and was praised for its powerful presentation of violence in a dark adaptation of a Frank Miller graphic novel.
To add even more to the teaser video, quotes from several characters are used throughout the video as they pop up on the screen. Perhaps the most stirring of these audio clips is the final one which has an obviously distressed Michonne shouting “What did you do?” at someone.
What would get Michonne so riled up and emotional to shout in that way? And how will the power dynamic between the survivors and the Whisperers play out in the final episodes of season 10?
What do you think of the art style in this interesting teaser video for the second half of The Walking Dead season 10? And which other characters’ quotes have you worried about the survivors? Let us know in the comments section!
