Beta

Beta is someone who has a complex history in The Walking Dead comic books, but given the changes from page to screen his future in the franchise is uncertain. One thing remains clear, though: He is just as dangerous as Alpha and Daryl will never let him live.

Daryl and Beta have a grudge dating back to their epic fight early on in season 10. Daryl would love to be the one to bring the big man to his knees if the opportunity presents itself.

Given Beta’s role as the Whisperers’ second in command, he has a big target on his back. Though he is clearly tough, and even though he’s capable of taking care of himself, Beta also seems like the kind of guy who would die to protect Alpha and the Guardians. Whereas most people want to avoid death at all costs, Beta sees death as the next step in the new evolutionary process.

And when people don’t fear death, it makes them an even bigger threat.

It is safe to assume that Beta will be at the forefront of the Whisperer War and that he will be the one trying to keep Alpha safe. The survivor strategy should revolve around taking him out so that Alpha is defenseless, and if that’s the case then he will have a giant target on his back because getting through him is one of the keys to victory.
