The midseason finale in season 10 of The Walking Dead left several characters trapped in a cave surrounded by walkers. If one HAS to die, who should it be?
Season 10 of The Walking Dead is about to air its midseason premiere on Sunday, Feb. 23 and there are quite a few characters whose lives are hanging in the balance. There is a serious chance that not everyone survives.
The most dangerous situation is the cave, where a trap devised by the Whisperers put the survivors in darkness surrounded by an ocean of the undead. Some of the most popular characters on the show are there, giving viewers a lot to worry about going forward.
Here is a list of the characters who are trapped in the cave in no particular order whose lives are in danger:
Each of those characters is unique in their own way and could have quite a bit of story left to tell. However, if one of those characters must die for everyone else to escape from the cave, which one would you choose to be the sacrifice?
We posed that question to our panel of The Walking Dead experts and got a couple of replies. Here is what they had to say:
If I had to pick one person to not make it out of the cave, it would be Daryl. He has just never been a character I was a fan of, I think he is too hot-headed and rushes into too many situations for my liking. While some of the characters in the cave are newer with less of a fan base I would rather see them grow and explore new stories than repeat the same storylines with Daryl.
Obviously I am hoping that everyone makes it out of the cave alive, but I think the person I would choose not to save would be Magna. At this point in time, she has just been caught stealing supplies from the communities on the off-chance that she decides to leave. She has proven that she does not trust most of the people in the communities despite the fact that the Hilltop welcomed her and her group when they had every right to turn them away. While I’m sure she could have a change of heart – hopefully through talking out her issues with Yumiko – as of now, Magna is unfortunately the one who has to go.
I’m not ready to say farewell to either of the characters who have been around since season 1. Plus, there are plenty of stories left to tell with Aaron. The new crew of Connie, Magna, and Kelly feel like they just arrived, so I need to get to know them better. Sadly, that leaves Jerry. Ezekiel’s right-hand man is one of my favorites with his sense of humor and brutal fighting style, but unless the show starts doing something more with the family man, he could sadly be seen as expendable.
