3) Prepare for cave-ins.

Okay, Daryl and the others knew that Alpha’s horde was in a cave, right? I mean, I know, but, I want to make sure I’m on the same page, so, let’s go back over it: Gamma told them where Alpha’s horde was, check. They headed to a cave in Whisperer territory, check. They went into the cave…check.

So, you’re going into a cave, on the information of a person you ought not to trust implicitly, deep in the territory of a very clever adversary, and yet no one thinks to bring a hammer or a pickaxe or a grenade or something that could double as a lever? Who planned this operation?! Even if you didn’t suspect a trap, you’re going INTO A FRIGGING CAVE!!!! You don’t think it might be worthwhile to bring some tools just in case the cave isn’t that solid?

For future reference: If, for whatever reason, you find yourself having to go into a cave in a zombie apocalypse, bring at least two of the items I mentioned (Or reasonable equivalents) into the cave with you; One to get yourself out, and the other in case the cave-in causes you to lose the first one. In the event a cave-in does happen, at least you’ll have an easier time digging yourself out than you would have if all you had was your bare hands!

Plus, it’s not like those items I listed aren’t good weapons against zombies! If you didn’t need to dig yourself out of the cave, you could just as easily turn around and use those tools to fight off the dead with!

This isn’t rocket science. If you need to go into a precarious place in a zombie apocalypse, you need to be prepared for a worst case scenario, because, while there’s no guarantee a cave-in or a collapse or what-have-you will happen, if it did, it would put you in an even worse situation than many an ordinary “worst case scenario” might.
