The most and least popular characters on The Walking Dead

There are characters from AMC’s The Walking Dead who fans love and others they can’t stand. Recently, a study on Reddit revealed the most loved and hated.
The Walking Dead is a world full of interesting individuals attempting to survive the zombie apocalypse. Each is unique in their own way, whether it is in fighting style, personality, appearance, or another trait.
Based on the character and their actions, fans can quickly determine whether they like that particular survivor or not. Some become favorites while others quickly fall to the bottom of the heap of those they wouldn’t mind seeing become walker food.
Recently a survey on Reddit performed by Soap Hub asked fans of the AMC zombie which characters they love the most and which ones they hate. The responses were quite interesting,
Here are the top 5 loved characters:
- Rick Grimes
- Daryl Dixon
- Glenn Rhee
- Carol Peletier
- Negan
The only real surprise on this list is the inclusion of Negan. For the most part, the former leader of the Saviors is a polarizing character who fans either love because of his sense of humor and charisma or hate because of the fact he personally killed both Glenn and Abraham in such a brutal fashion.
Farther down the list, it is notable that Aaron was ranked above other fan-favorites such as Carl Grimes, Michonne, and Maggie. Aaron is a character that doesn’t always seem to get the appreciation he deserves on social media, so it’s great to see him get some love in this Reddit survey.
Here are the top 5 “least loved” characters:
- Andrea
- Gregory
- Beth
- Lori
- Lizzie
Seeing the top two names on this list shouldn’t come as any surprise. Both Andrea and Gregory drew a lot of negativity from fans based on the actions of their characters. Plus, Lori didn’t do much to endear herself to fans over the course of her run on the show.
Beth in the number three spot is a bit surprising. Mostly, the shock is because she is higher on the list than Lor but also because it seemed like many fans enjoyed her character arc with Daryl as well as her singing and the connection to the well-loved Greene family.
A glance down the list shows some other surprising characters making an appearance. Morgan Jones, Noah, and Tara Chambler all being in the top ten is eyebrow-raising considering none were really villainous. Characters like the Governor and Simon were expected to be there, but instead seeing those named was a bit unsettling.
