The Walking Dead season 10 episode 9 recap: Squeeze
The Walking Dead returns with season 10 episode 9 “Squeeze”. Who will make it out of the cave alive? Where is Alpha? Here’s your recap.
The Walking Dead “Squeeze” picks up immediately where we left off in the mid-season finale. The group of Carol, Daryl, Connie, Kelly, Magna, Jerry and Aaron are stuck in the cave and though it’s pitch black they can hear the sounds of the walkers all around them. The herd is in the cave, and it’s a trap. Jerry calls the group’s attention to the roof of the cave where Alpha is standing.
Carol looks up and screams at her.
Alpha fades into the darkness, and then we see her emerge from the cave, telling her people to make sure that no one gets out.
Cue the credits, here we go! SEASON 10B HAS OFFICIALLY STARTED!!!

Magna tries to climb the walls of the cave while everyone else works to keep their ledge clear of walkers. The walls are too steep, there’s no way she can make it out. Daryl notices the groundwater is coming in from outside, and then they realize there are perfectly lined up boulders spanning the bottom of the cave. If they jumped with perfect timing, while managing to avoid the walkers, they could make it across.
Kelly translates Daryl’s plans for Connie, but then she asks if he’s serious or not. He is. (Remember, she hurt herself prior to getting stuck in the cave)
Daryl goes first, followed by Carol. Even for the athletic ones in the group, it’s a challenge to jump across the rocks. Magna goes next, followed by Jerry. Connie makes sure that her sister is following close behind her, stepping in the same places. When Kelly prepares to jump, walkers start coming from behind them and Aaron tells her to go while he defends the ledge. She falls and loses her footing but he gets the walkers’ attention and distracts them while she continues across.
Once they’re all on the other side, Kelly hugs Connie and a walker grabs her ankle. Jerry cuts the arm off and Daryl asks for the severed limb. He goes farther into the cave, telling Connie to stay behind and keep the group together. Connie nods as Carol looks around.
Daryl goes off to explore possible exits while Aaron asks Jerry about food. They don’t have a lot of food. Kelly wonders why they’d need food, and Aaron says they need to be prepared. Connie checks on Carol, who says she’s just winded, but Daryl says she’s actually claustrophobic. Magna wants to know why Carol didn’t consider that before getting them trapped in there. Aaron shuts her down, but she persists, saying that they have plenty of time. She chastises Carol for running off. Daryl says there’s no time for any of that, and that he thinks he has a way out.
