The Walking Dead season 10 mid-season premiere was full of twists and turns and a very dark cave. Seven people went in, but how many came out?
As mid-season premieres go, The Walking Dead 1009 was a doozy. If you don’t like the idea of caves, dark places, places filled with the undead, or if you suffer from claustrophobia yourself, then “Squeeze” is the kind of episode that keeps you on the edge of your seat. Alpha laid the perfect trap, but who made it out?
Seven people went into the cave in the season 10 mid-season finale: Carol, Daryl, Aaron, Connie, Jerry, Magna and Kelly.
For a while, it looked like Carol’s claustrophobia might keep her from making it out, but a friendly assist from Connie gave her the boost she needed to get out. Literally. Not only did Connie give Carol some moral support, but Connie and Magna went back to make sure Daryl and Carol made it out when they were separated from the rest of the group.
Then there was Jerry, who struggled to pass through some of the tighter rock formations with his armor and gear. In the end, he was the one holding up the support beam and he made it out at the last minute.
There was a point when it looked like everyone was about to make it out alive until the very end when Magna saw the Whisperers coming through the tunnels and turned around to fight them off. Connie stayed with her, and they were trapped as the cave collapsed. Like Schrodinger’s Cat, at the moment Connie and Magna are both alive and dead because we just don’t know what happened.
The reality is that Lauren Ridloff likely stepped back to film Marvel’s Eternals. Connie’s story does not seem to be finished and so her fate, and Magna’s, are left open-ended. For now.
There’s no telling when fans will learn what happened to Magna and Connie, as the previews for The Walking Dead 1010 reveal that the action has shifted away from the cave. So for now, stay tuned until we learn what happened to Connie and Magna.
The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9pm on AMC.
