9. Ryan Howard

The “wunderkind” of Dunder Mifflin, Ryan was a polarizing character. He obviously wanted to better himself since he was attending college and had his sights set on being the CEO of a major company in the future. However, there was a lot to not like about Ryan as well.

The character played by B.J. Novak wasn’t very nice to Kelly in their relationship, he used Michael’s fondness toward him to exploit resources, and committed fraud to embezzle a ton of money from Dunder Mifflin.

It’s pretty bad when not even Nate likes you, and he seems to get along with just about everyone. His lack of interpersonal skills will make his fitting into a community difficult, but there are some roles where he could thrive.

A manipulator, but also someone with goals, Ryan could carve out a great niche for himself without getting his own hands too dirty by being a second in command. He could fill the kind of role that Simon held with the Saviors: a mouthy and intense character who acts impulsively and doesn’t consider the impact he has on others.
