The mid-season premiere of The Walking Dead season 10 had so many talking points, including whether the events could lead Carol to reconcile with Ezekiel?

The Walking Dead season 10 mid-season premiere “Squeeze” gave us a lot to think about. What does the future hold for Alpha and Negan? Are Connie and Magna alive? Will Gamma be found out? What does the future hold for Carol?

Carol is beaten and broken for sure. She is hell-bent on revenge for Henry and the mothers of the world can relate. But, she went about it in a totally wrong way. She told Daryl she wants to hurt Alpha before she dies and Daryl proceeds to try to talk her down but to no avail. She acted on her own and did exactly what Daryl told her not to do.

Now, she is left alone and hurting even more for what her actions have caused. All she could see was red and didn’t look beyond her own pain to see that she put others in danger. And for what?  Alpha is still alive, the whisperers are still around, and she may have caused two more deaths.

The fairytale of Carol and the King is an interesting one: Boy likes girl, girl is indifferent, boy stalks girl, time passes and she gives in to his very lame proposal. They are a strange couple to pair up but it is the apocalypse and people come together for different reasons than before. Once they lost Henry to the pikes of the Whisperers things drastically changed.

Both Carol and King Ezekiel are suffering the pain of losing Henry. They have chosen to deal with this loss in different ways. And now we find out that Ezekiel has another personal battle he needs to fight. He is weak and vulnerable and still dealing with his loss of both Henry and Carol.

Now that Daryl’s tune has changed where Carol is concerned, will she seek out a reconciliation with Ezekiel? Someone who will forgive her for anything because he truly loves her and they share the same pain? Grief forced a wedge between them but could revenge draw them back together? I don’t think Carol’s mind will be changed about seeking revenge for Henry but, she has to realize she can’t do this on her own. Will she seek out the one person who can understand her pain and perhaps share the need to seek revenge?
