WORST: Fake-out dream sequence

Even though it was such a small part of the episode, showing a scene with a member of the Whisperers inside Rosita’s house automatically raised the tension level for this episode early, especially since this was shown immediately after the opening credits.

Immediately, I jumped to the edge of my seat, saying “Oh boy…this is going to get crazy!” to myself. Instead, Rosita wakes up in a bed and there is literally nobody or anything there to get nervous about anymore.

Sure, it may have been a scene of foreshadowing and it also shows how nervous she is after losing Siddiq and nearly seeing Coco be devoured, but toying with someone’s emotions in this way takes a bit of excitement out of when things like this actually happen.

It may be more exciting to see her nightmare on the screen, but this can also be effectively set up through dialogue. Plus, who she shares her feelings with could open the door to build more relationships or strengthen others among characters who might not be used as much.

That, and I hate having my emotions toyed with. Darn you, AMC…
