4. Rosita’s nightmares

One of the smaller surprising things about this episode is that it was revealed it had only been two days since Siddiq had been murdered. As fans and viewers of a weekly show, we have time to think about events that we see happen in the show from week to week. It was even joked about on social media that it seemed like the midseason hiatus was a couple of years longer than normal.

To hear it had only been two days put the emotions viewers were seeing into perspective. In this timeline, it had only been a couple of days since Siddiq had told Rosita what he witnessed in the barn, and since she had to put walker Siddiq down. This is very fresh for everyone and but as a new mother going through what she did, it’s no wonder she is suffering mentally.

Right off the bat, this episode of The Walking Dead showed that Rosita was having nightmares of whisperers coming after her and baby Coco. Even though most viewers had seen part of this scene in a teaser, it’s still very jarring to a Whisperer holding a knife after a newborn, real or not.

With all these obstacles in her way and realizing she is not in a good place, she agrees with her significant other, Father Gabriel that she should stay back in Alexandria to keep watch. Unfortunately, this leaves her with the harder of the jobs on accident! This means she now has to fight walkers and whisperers in the community that is her home, essentially bringing her nightmares to life. With that and a near-death experience on hand, there is no telling how this affects her future.
