4. Mary tries to see Adam

This moment makes the list for a couple of reasons, one is because it seemed as if Mary assumed she would immediately be brought to Adam for a happily ever after story. On some level, Mary knew that her showing up and wanting to see her nephew could end up this way. She also might feel lucky considering the Kingtop’s residents didn’t immediately kick her out.

Her presence at Kingtop caused drama as well, and this something that caused a small rift within the fandom. Most viewers fully agreed with Earl and Alden, they thought their small family unit was a beautiful thing. So many kids in real life today go through life with no support and this tv show accurately reflects that it’s even worse in the apocalypse.

Viewers have seen so many orphans made out of the violence this world has. So to see Earl and Tammy take Adam in from the start and hear the passion in Alden’s voice when speaking on how Earl is such a good father, it was heartwarming to so many fans. For Mary to come in during a time like this seemed to do nothing but bring negativity to both sides.

Perhaps the biggest WTF of it all is the fact this is happening during such an intense time. Of course, Mary and Aaron had no idea that this would be the day that a battle would break out between the two sides. However, it certainly doesn’t help to have more conflict during a time where all focus needs to be on making it out of the battle alive.
