TWD Theory #1: Dante dug the tunnel.

Of all the theories I’ve heard, this is the one with the most support, but also…the least logical. In last Sunday’s episode, it’s implied by Scott that Dante dug the tunnel, or at least, the entrance into Alexandria.

That last part, honestly, I can believe. I can believe that, in his nightly rounds of messing with Alexandria, Dante could have dug into the already existing tunnel to give the Whisperers easy access should they ever need it.

The first part, however? Hell, no!

HOW?!

You mean to tell me that, somehow, Dante was able to dig a tunnel underneath Alexandria all the way to somewhere within (Or, at least, near) Whisperer territory? I’m assuming it’s at least near Whisperer turf because I would imagine if it were closer to the communities, they would have found it and searched it by now (They fact they haven’t suggests it’s too close to Whisperer territory for the communities to risk war just to go searching a long abandoned RV), assuming that’s the case, we’re being asked to believe Dante dug this tunnel, that is tall enough for Beta to stand up in the whole way, for miles?

Once again, I ask: HOW?!

While I don’t know how it’s been since the group took Dante in (I don’t think they’ve specified at any point this season how long it’s been since Henry et al died, which would be the maximum amount of time Dante could have been at Alexandria), I don’t think it’s been more than a year (In show), meaning Dante would have had to dig this miles long tunnel, without getting noticed, in approximately less than a year, using only hand tools, with likely only a few hours each night to do it, all the while, he’s doing his regular duties as a doctor and trying to sabotage Alexandria while also trying to get away to contact the Whisperers with intel…oh, did I also mention he’d have to dig out the opening Beta crawled out of each night!?

Yeah, think about it: Beta had to crawl through a pile of dirt to get into Alexandria, meaning that dirt was always covering the whole (If it wasn’t, someone would have noticed the tunnel!), and that Dante would have to dig that out each night to work on digging the tunnel, and then PUT IT ALL BACK!

Someone, please, I’m begging you, tell meHOW?!?!
