3) Lots of things are flammable. Make a note of it.

In what was a clever bit of ingenuity on the part of the Whisperers, they used pine tar as the first stage of a two-part fire attack against Hilltop’s defenders. Perhaps…too clever.

But, in all seriousness, it was a smart move, and, clearly, one the militia was not expecting.

My question, though, is why?

I mean…have you read the warning labels on things? There is a surprisingly large amount of ordinary substances that people can get access to that just so happen to be pretty damn flammable. Like alcohol, for example. Chances are good that a great many of these substances will still be readily available even well into the apocalypse, and could easily be used for the same purpose as the Whisperers’ pine tar attack.

With these substances still being so readily available (Seriously, there are so many places with pine trees everywhere you look), a hostile using them to make incendiary weapons should not come as a surprise to you. In fact, you may want to look into wearing fire-retardant or even fireproof clothing when going into battle to protect yourself from such attacks, like wool.

I’m not even kidding. Wool is fire-resistant. Maybe you should wear that before going to war.

You may not be able to stop your enemies from using fire as a weapon, but, at least you can protect yourself from it.
