The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week: Prepare for war
By Liam O'Leary
5) Don’t expect mercy from your enemies.
This should be fairly obvious when you think about it: You’re in a zombie apocalypse, people are fighting for the limited resources left in order to survive, and death is both cheap and common, is the idea that your enemies will be merciless really that far-fetched?
It shouldn’t be.
If a group of hostiles is choosing to attack you for resources, chances are their willingness to negotiate went out the window a long time ago. If that group is attacking you for reasons other than resources, chances are, that willingness to negotiate was never there in the first place.
If your enemies are using things like incendiaries, explosives, or zombies for anything other than diversions, it’s probably because they’re out for blood, and no amount of begging, pleading, bargaining, or negotiating will be enough to satiate it.
My point here is that, in a zombie apocalypse, you should not hope to rely on the kindness or mercy of your enemies to save you from annihilation. If you do, you’re staking your life (And that of your group) on a gamble, the odds of which are very much not in your favor.
Be ready to fight to the end, or else, it might just be your end.
