The Walking Dead and its fandom is a haven for many viewers, all fans are family. Episode 1011 is a perfect example of why fans have found solace among the dead.

During season 10 episode 11 of The Walking Dead, there were many times where fans were shocked, nervous or sat with their heart-pounding wondering what would happen next. They were elated at certain events and devastated at others. However, when the episode ended and there was time for everyone to gather their thoughts, fans were incredibly proud.

This goes back to what Siddiq said after the horrific pike incident, he told a story of everyone fighting together even though they didn’t all know each other. How they fought back and defended one another. In tragedy, beautiful light and strength is often found and Kingtop fighting back is exactly that.

Not everyone at Kingtop currently is a permanent resident. Visitors have come from other communities, and people have come from the ruins of the Kingdom. It’s many people who maybe don’t consider themselves close family. These people didn’t want to fight, some wanted to run far away but at the end of the day, they came together as a family.

In reality, everyone at Kingtop is a hero, every fighter, every family, anyone staying at the place they love and call home. It takes a tremendous amount of courage to go into battle with all the odds they have stacked against them. Seeing them stand together in a battle formation as a moment of solidarity was beautiful. Much like Earl said, if they do go out, it is protecting their way of life, and it’s a way most characters would like to go out. Protecting loved ones.

On Twitter when roaming around The Walking Dead fandom you might see people using #TWDfamily and episodes like this are the reason why. It’s very inspiring to see all different types of people from different walks of life come together and defend each other no matter what. It inspires people and it’s why viewers will continue to be a huge fan family for many years to come.
