5 WTF moments from The Walking Dead episode 1012

3. The death of Earl
This episode certainly didn’t refrain from giving us deaths aplenty. By far though, Earl was the most heart wrenching of them all. Leave it to The Walking Dead to show what an amazing father and leader Earl was just to rip it away from us, leaving our hearts totally destroyed. In episode 1011 ‘Morning Star’ Earl gave such a beautiful display of power and unity and it’s so sad he is now dead.
Not only did The Walking Dead rip away such an awesome character, but they also made Judith be the person to put him down as he couldn’t accomplish putting himself down, WTF! Viewers’ hearts shattered seeing Earls’s heartfelt pleas and conversation with Judith. There is no doubt this will change her character for years to come.
This also earns a spot on the WTF list because Earl wasn’t even lucky enough to have another adult present or a real weapon to finish the job properly. By the time he tried to attempt to take his life, he was very weak. He didn’t bail on what he planned to do, he seemed to be so exhausted that the may he slammed his head down and the pain likely made him pass out and die.
Luckily at this point in the apocalypse, we don’t often see characters go out in this fashion. This is Judith’s first up-close experience which makes this scene that much worse. No doubt there wasn’t a dry eye in the house after witnessing this rough event.
