Season 10 episode 12 of The Walking Dead was a complete show stopper. With so much destruction and loss who managed to come out on top with the MVP crown?

The Walking Dead season 10 episode 12 was one of epic proportions. Not only did we have three different character deaths but we also had the fall of Kingtop. Our group is at an all-time low, as now 2 communities are gone, and loss ravages what is left. The future looks bleak, and they cannot even rejoice in the fact Alpha is gone, because everyone is separated.

The MVP this week is a very captivating character. Many love them, many hate them. A decent amount of season 10, viewers have been caught up in which side this character is on. Even with the actions taken in this episode, people will still wonder where loyalties are, but it doesn’t take away the fact they took down a great evil.

This week’s MVP is Negan!

Negan managed to do what nobody could do: He killed Alpha. The Whisperers are by no means gone. Beta is still alive and well, and arguably the death of Alpha could cause more death and chaos. However, actually managing to kill Alpha is an incredible feat. Characters had tried and failed due to various reasons and each time she seemed to only grow stronger.

The amazing thing about Alpha and the Whisperers is the fact they are incredibly smart. They don’t go at anything with a half baked plan, they are always two steps ahead. So, in reality, going in and getting the job done from the inside might have been the only way to bring her down.

We also have to give Negan credit because Negan is the exact opposite of a whisperer, he is loud, unruly and doesn’t like to listen to anyone. The fact he managed to stay with them as long as he did is quite unbelievable. Not only did he manage to stay, but he also built a relationship with Alpha, which was certainly not easy to do. He gathered information and played all the right cards and he came out on top.

The two honorable mentions this week are without a doubt, Earl and Mary. Both took their final moments to do very admirable actions. Earl while bitten still managed to get all of the children to safety. He might have failed in his attempt to put himself down, but he spoke to Judith with such respect and love that there wasn’t a dry eye in the house during their scenes together. This is an event that will stay with Judith for a long time, and help teach her what this world is truly like.

Mary saved the lives of Adam, Alden, and Kelly with what she did leading the walkers away. She didn’t save her sister but she was able to save her Nephew in the end and that was beautiful. What she did before her death was solidified the fact she was no longer Gamma, she was a woman truly wanting to change.

Even with the valiant actions taken by Earl and Mary, Negan clearly comes out on top with the MVP crown. It might be hard to imagine, considering everything happening, but this will get worse before it gets better as Beta’s wrath holds no bounds. However, taking down Alpha was the necessary first step to bringing down the Whisperers for good. Thank you Negan!
