1. We say goodbye

We have to be honest here, there is no way anything else can be number one on this WTF list. On the side of The Walking Dead and character Michonne, we lose an irreplaceable leading lady. She is a dedicated mother, wife, friend, and leader. She is a warrior queen and the show forever loses something it cannot gain back. The Walking Dead will always have a Michonne shaped place in its heart that can’t be filled. Judith and RJ will never quite be the same. The show will go on and seeing Michonne in this universe again is a very strong possibility but this changes things.

On a more personal side, we lose Danai Gurira from The Walking Dead cast. This actress is amazing and this goes so much deeper than just a character on a tv show. Danai is an inspiration to everyone with her kind soul. She is an advocate of women and girls everywhere, and in a world where sometimes it’s scary to stand up for yourself, she is the voice of strength.

Danai got the chance to play a strong woman of color on a genre show and sadly this is something far too rare. Michonne is a character who got to be so authentically herself that no matter what she went through, she still stood so strong in what she felt was right and it’s sad this won’t be represented on our screens every Sunday anymore.

While Danai is no doubt forever part of The Walking Dead family, and we will make it on without her as we have Rick Grimes. This is a hard time where we ask ourselves, “WTF can we go on without her, what does this mean?” As families do, we must pull together, and while we watch our dear Michonne part ways, we can wave to our shining star Danai because we know her future is bright!
