2) Think carefully before making your choices.

Yeah, you know that whole “you can’t be frivolous when making decisions” thing I was just talking about, well, what that basically translates into in the apocalypse is thinking carefully about what you’re going to do before you do it.

Let’s go back to the zombie-infested building example I used earlier. Let’s assume you stumble upon this building while looking for supplies, do you just stroll in?

I wouldn’t. I’d want to know what kind of building it was. Was it a place people might have gathered? I’d want to know if it had any occupants. Were they alive or undead? If they’re undead, where are they most concentrated? Then, I’d want to know what’s the best way to get inside.

You see, this is the sort of thinking you need to start doing. Your life is in your hands now, and just blundering into things and hoping for the best isn’t that smart of a strategy. If you want to extend your life, you need to start thinking ahead before making your choices whenever possible.

The alternative is…well…it’s basically crossing your fingers and hoping you’ll get lucky every time.

…No one is that lucky.
