Beta leads Rufus into a town. Rufus is coughing and actively dying, which attracts the walkers. Beta stands still while the walker approaches, and when Rufus moves to kill it Beta stabs him and leaves him for the walker to eat.

He goes inside a building, still cradling her head in a bloody sack, and in the back room he comes upon a little living space. There’s a note on the table that reads “these 2 eyes see 1 truth.” He pockets the note and then looks at the wall where a “Half Moon” poster hangs. He rips it off and then smashes a guitar to bits.

Alpha tells Carol that she was lost, and so was Henry. She sent him away and he died out there, all alone and afraid. Just like Sophia, she adds. Carol turns to glare at her, but she’s gone. Now she’s in front of her. Alpha says Carol can’t take her head again unless she takes her own. This Alpha is chatty, and she continues to say that she respects Carol’s move to have Negan do the dirty work. However, it was Carol who ended her. Alpha thinks she regrets what she did because people got hurt, and she could apologize for it. But Alpha knows that Carol wanted something else and all of that time on her own made her realize what she really wanted. “Say it!” Alpha taunts her, and when she disappears a walker is there to catch Carol off guard.

When the walker is dead, Carol tells Alpha that she wants to be alone and she hurries off. “Yeah, that’s not it,” Alpha says, following her.
