From Carol to Beta, it seemed everyone had some kind of internal struggle in The Walking Dead. In a zombie apocalypse, that’s a war you don’t want to lose.

As I watched The Walking Dead “Look at the Flowers” it felt like everyone was dealing with some kind of internal conflict — Carol, Negan, Ezekiel, even Beta — and…kind of having problems because of it.

That got me thinking: While some internal battles are inevitable, they can really become an issue for your survival if you can’t get a handle on them. At best, they can be distracting, at worst, they can drive you right off the cliff.

So, in this week’s The Walking Dead, Survival Rule Of The Week, I thought we’d look at some of the more common causes of these sorts of internal conflict, and why they can become a personal menace, using some of what we saw on Sunday’s episode of Walking Dead as inspiration.

If you have to fight wars with yourself in a zombie apocalypse, you better make damn sure that you don’t wind up losing.
