8) As we return from commercial, we see Beta and Red Shirt walking down a main street in an abandoned town. If it looks familiar, it’s because it’s the same street used as Woodbury’s main drag back in Season Three.

9) As Beta examines The Grand Hotel, he finds a poster revealing his stage name: Half Moon.

10) Additionally, it also reveals, presumably, when he was scheduled to appear there next: September 16th. Back in Season Two, as Shane and Otis roamed the high school not far from Hershel’s farm after finding the respirator, there were posters announcing Homecoming celebrations set for September 8th. This detail helps confirm that the outbreak likely went critical in either the last week of August or the first week of September.

11) Just as Martin and The Governor’s ghosts seemed to represent Tyreese’s doubt and regret, it seems that Alpha’s ghost is serving as a manifestation of Carol’s guilt about the collateral damage of her quest for revenge, and her fear that she may lose even more people she cares about.

12) On their way to Charleston, Eugene and Yumiko discuss whether or not Stephanie’s group will have candy. During that discussion, Eugene says: “I was trying to remember something kind about her [His mother]…”. This would suggest that Eugene’s relationship with his mom wasn’t that good.

13) Not long after Eugene and Yumiko’s discussion about candy, they and Ezekiel stumble upon a pair of walkers in cages, apparently lured there by a pigeon being used as bait. This seems like a reversal of the setup Morgan had outside of his home when Rick, Michonne, and Carl found him in Season Three’s “Clear”, where he had the bait (In this case, mice) in cages, to lure walkers into a fence of spikes.

14) Beta’s reaction to his “concert for walkers” (Walker AID?) is strange. It appears that he’s…crying? Is he missing his life prior to the outbreak? Is he missing performing for people? It’s all rather strange, considering that he straight-up murdered another Whisperer for recognizing him two episodes earlier.
