Norman Reedus takes fans for a trip down memory lane with an Instagram post featuring a look back at The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead wraps up season 10 on April 5 until later in the year when fans get the official finale as a stand-alone episode. Reedus took a trip down memory lane on his Instagram page recently, and it made everyone feel sentimental for the past seasons and the characters who are no longer with us.

Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) has gained more depth to his character this season, and it has been amazing to watch the growth of this character.

While scrolling through these photos, it makes one wonder about the characters that are gone. What would they have been doing had they survived and were still on the series?

The first picture is of Andrew Lincoln, Reedus, and the late Scott Wilson posing as see no evil, speak no evil, and hear no evil with Reedus showing off his famous “Reedus Salute.” It is a fun picture of the three of them and makes us long for days back at the farm. Hershel would have loved the garden at Alexandria and spent his time in peace while tending to it, or perhaps he would have gone off with Maggie and little Hershel.

The second photo is of the ringleader, the samurai, and the archer, all that is missing is the kid. This photo was taken during the Terminus episode entitled “A,” by the looks of their costumes. What a fantastic episode as Gareth is corralling them all into the boxcar. Daryl is the only one left in the series now, but hopefully, Michonne is making her way to Rick at this very moment.

Number three is a Dixon Brothers reunion that, at the time, no one knew for sure if it meant Rooker would come back to play Merle as a hallucination or a flashback. It was a behind the scenes photo from the filming of season 4. This wasn’t accidentally released since AMC featured it. If Merle were still around, I am uncertain that Negan would still be alive. The two of them would have butted heads for sure, and Negan is fierce and ruthless, but I don’t know if he is a match for Merle Dixon. The man took a hacksaw to his hand, cauterized it with no pain meds, and continued on. That is badass.

Next up, we have two bad boys, Reedus and Jon Bernthal, who played Shane Walsh. This photo is from 2013, and the boys were out on the town in Philadelphia at the Good Dog Bar.  Shane was a hot-head, but man, he could have come in handy against Negan and Alpha unless he would have let his dark side take over and joined the Saviors.

We also see Michonne, Yumiko, and Daryl on a break from filming during the winter scenes in the back half of season 9. This is a more recent photo than the rest, and it looks like they are having a nice break, perhaps having a little snack. Michonne is now gone, Daryl is dealing with Negan, and Yumiko is off on an adventure with Eugene and Ezekiel. I wonder what the future will hold?

The Austin Amelio and Reedus photo. I remember when this was first posted on social media, and fans went crazy. It is such a great photo of these two wild boys! Our Dwighty (Amelio) was told to leave and never return on orders from Daryl. Now Dwight is off searching for Sherry on Fear the Walking Dead. Daryl has to harbor some bad feelings where Dwight is concerned, so it is probably better if they never see each other again. As for Dwight, I hope he finds Sherry someday.

Caryl, the ship name for Carol Peletier and Daryl Dixon.  This photo shows two people who are the only two survivors from the original camp. They have spent a lifetime together battling in this apocalyptic world. Hopefully, things can be mended between these two. Perhaps Daryl can extend some grace since Carol was trying to rid them of the evil that was Alpha.

Any Negan and Daryl scene contains a lot of tension. In reality, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) and Reedus are terrific friends. So, it would be fun to watch these scenes while they are filming since there is always so much tension between the two characters but not the actors. Will Daryl start to forgive Negan since he was the one to killed Alpha at the command of Carol? The bad blood runs deep between these two characters, so it will be interesting to see what happens next.

Lydia with Negan and Michonne. This photo shows them with Lydia as a prisoner with her eyes shielded and hands bound. Now, Daryl has taken a more protective position towards Lydia. Is it because they share a common bond of abusive parents, or is it just the way Daryl is wired? He is always soft where the children are concerned. The friendship these two have made is a good one, and hopefully, it can continue now that Lydia will really need her friends.

The final photo again shows Caryl, but the look on Melissa McBride’s face is priceless. She looks so content. It was a great final photo to end our walk down memory lane with Norman Reedus.

Tune in Sunday night on AMC to see Norman Reedus in the final episode of The Walking Dead until later on in the year.
