The Walking Dead brings season 10 to a thrilling finale until 1016 airs later this year. Find out what happens in this complete recap of “The Tower.”

“The Tower” begins with a very enthusiastic Princess greeting Yumiko, Ezekiel and Eugene. She’s very happy to greet them, but her tone shifts when Yumiko expresses the need to be cautious. Princess reveals that she has been alone for a year, and now she gets these possibly unfriendly people.

Ezekiel demurs, telling her that they don’t know her intentions. But she recovers and points out that she wasn’t pointing her gun at them. Yumiko won’t let her guard down, so Ezekiel distracts her with compliments for her displays.

Princess admits that she put the displays together to keep herself occupied, but then she says she could be hallucinating. She’s freaking out a bit but then she introduces herself as Juanita Sanchez. She calls herself “Princess” because “queen” makes her sound “old and pretentious.”

Ezekiel greets her formally, withholding his title in favor of simply “Ezekiel”. She offers them food and supplies, but Eugene says they’re busy. She wants to know about their mission and offers them help, and when a group of walkers approach she shows them just how helpful she can be by shooting at them, which only serves to spook the horses.

She realizes her mistake and immediately apologizes. “Damn. Sorry about that.”

Cue the credits, here we go!

The group tries to recover whatever supplies they have with them and Ezekiel says they can still make the meeting. Eugene isn’t so sure. And if they have come this far only to fail, well, that would be a big shame. Yumiko says they need to start walking because they have to make the meeting. Ezekiel suggests that they take Princess up on her offer of help, but Yumiko is not so sure she trusts her yet. Ezekiel says that she might know how to find transportation, but Yumiko doesn’t understand why she wouldn’t have left by then.

Eugene says that any chance she might have transportation makes it worth the chance. Princess is overjoyed at the chance to help but she balks when Yumiko asks for her gun. Princess says she could probably take out two of them if she’s lucky, but then Eugene would kill her. In the end, though, she decided to give up her gun in a show of good faith. Plus, she knows where to find more guns. She leads them off to find her garage full of wheels. Yumiko reminds Ezekiel that she is indeed crazy.

Beta leads his horde into Alexandria, which is empty. “Where are they?” can be heard among the walkers.

Where are they, indeed. As it happens, the Alexandrians have met up with the Hilltop residents in a secret hideout. Judith walks through the house and we see Negan with a dead opossum, Lydia working on a bowl of vegetables and Kelly giving Gabriel a lesson in ASL. Luke is working on the communication system while Carol sits with Dog and tells Magna that he’s keeping the cats away. Luke needs a volunteer for a project, and Carol steps up to volunteer.

In the woods, Daryl talks to Michonne over the walkie. He says they have a plan to end the war but if she heads home she won’t find them there. He jokes that being on the run reminds him of the early days with the “old gang.”

The walkers trample the crops in Alexandria, stomping through the tomato plants as they move toward the windmill. Beta watches them. Another Whisperer says they left quickly but they can keep searching. Beta starts to hear a voice in his head and he believes they might have gone to Oceanside.

Above them in the tower, Alden and Aaron watch them. Alden gives Aaron information and he writes it on his metal arm. When Alden peeks again he thinks he might have been spotted by Beta, but Beta gives no indication. He tells his minions to prepare the Guardians for their walk.
