The Walking Dead 1015 recap: The Tower
Yumiko wants to know why Princess put their lives in danger back there. Ezekiel tries to hold her back but Yumiko won’t let up. In the meantime, Eugene notices the street signs and realizes that Princess led them along a street they’d already passed. They didn’t need to go through the minefield at all. Yumiko aims her bow and arrow at her and Princess admits she wanted to show them that she was so great they would want to stay and be friends, and then she says that she waited and waited for people to show up and no one ever did, which is just like the way things were before all of this started. She was alone then, and she’s alone now. One time someone told her that she’s hard to love, so maybe she deserved her fate. But she didn’t want the voice to be right. She’s sorry.
Eugene knows exactly how she feels, and he puts his hand on her shoulder and reveals that he made the same mistakes to avoid being alone. He pats her shoulder and asks if she really does have access to wheels.
Daryl and Judith track the injured walker to a ravine, where she’s on the ground. She feebly tries to grab her knife but Daryl tells her to toss it away. She begs him to pull the arrow out because she can’t die like this. “It ain’t natural,” she adds. She says their people are heading East and she says as much as she loves her people, Beta is crazy. He lost his mind after Alpha died. Daryl wants to know if Beta knows where they are. She says he will keep coming for them, and then she says she wants to walk after she dies. When she can’t volunteer any more information, Daryl shoots her in the head.
Judith can’t believe he shot her in the head, and she wants to know why they’re just going to leave her. As they walk away, she looks back at the body.
Beta knows they’re being watched. The voice is telling him to look around at the signs. There is a broken branch, and birds, and a cat running. He thinks he’s hearing the dead talking to him. The camera pans over to show a walker “talking” to him and telling him that his faith would be rewarded.
Aaron and Alden walk along the walkers in the distance. Alden thought things would have been easier with Alpha dead but they’re not. They see the herd changing direction, back toward the tower. The radio doesn’t work so they have to get back quickly, but they find themselves surrounded by Whisperers with guns.
