Lauren Ridloff celebrated her birthday on April 6, and fans and castmates sent her an outpouring of love on her special day.

The Walking Dead introduced us to Connie, portrayed by Lauren Ridloff in season 9. Ridloff’s birthday was April 6, and an outpouring of love for her shows how important she and her character has become in The Walking Dead fandom.

Connie was a part of a group that Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming) saves from a horde of walkers at the end of the first half of season 9, in the episode entitled “What Comes After.” Connie is knowledgeable and has a heightened sense of their surroundings because she is deaf, which is no stretch for Ridloff because the actor herself has been deaf since birth.  This has proved very useful because it keeps her much more alert than others and has proved very useful to her group. Connie communicates with American Sign Language (ASL), which has encouraged other characters to learn ASL to be able to communicate with her.

Her sister in the series, Kelly (Angel Theory) and the rest of their group, all know ASL and can make sure everyone can understand what Connie is trying to communicate. It is wonderful for The Walking Dead to bring a deaf character into the show to bring more awareness about ASL to everyone.

Recently Connie has had a tragedy on the show and hasn’t been located as of the last episode that aired. Fans are concerned about her future with the show and are anxious to learn what has happened to her.

It is always fun to see all of the birthday love fans and cast mates show during cast member’s birthdays.

During the quarantine, the COVID-19 has brought to us all many actors have taken to reading stories to children. Ridloff did us one better and brought us a story read in ASL. It is beautiful to see her reaching out to deaf children during this time who have limited access to communication with other children.

Ridloff will star in Marvel’s upcoming American superhero film The Eternals, which is based on a comic book race of people of the same name. She will portray a character named Makkari. She is also set to star in The Magnificent Meyersons, which the filmmaker Evan Opperman explains in an interview is the story of one remarkable family on an ordinary day in New York City.

dark. Next. Delays change the timeline for The Walking Dead in 2020

We hope that Lauren Ridloff had a fantastic birthday and can’t wait to find out Connie’s fate in The Walking Dead. We are also excited about her upcoming projects to be able to see her spread her acting wings.
