Newest fan convention celebrating the world of The Walking Dead, Creation of the Dead, shifts to October amid novel coronavirus pandemic.

Creation of the Dead: A Salute to The Walking Dead, the newest fan convention dedicated to the world of The Walking Dead, has been pushed back to October with a new location after uncertainty surrounding novel coronavirus creates an ever-changing entertainment landscape.

The convention, under the helm of seasoned pop culture convention professionals at Creation Entertainment, is presently scheduled to take place the weekend of October 2-4, 2020 in the Chicago area. It will be held at the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel and Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.

Special guests currently scheduled to attend the event include Norman Reedus, Chandler Riggs, Cassady McClincy, Pollyanna McIntosh, Katelyn Nacon and Cooper Andrews, with more guests to be announced at a later date. Obviously the guest list will continue to be in flux depending on what is happening with the pandemic at that point.

Creation of the Dead is one of three major fan conventions taking place in October, joining The Fandemic Dead (which also had to change its originally planned date to its new date, October 23-25) and New York Comic Con (October 8-11). NYCC typically coincides with the season premiere of the new season of The Walking Dead, but with production delays as they are, it is becoming increasingly unlikely that the show will return in October, if at all in 2020.

Creation Entertainment has been producing pop culture conventions for decades, with their annual Star Trek Convention topping their list of show-specific conventions such as salutes to Lucifer, The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural and Stranger Things.

As one of the longest-running fan convention companies, guests can rest assured that they know what they’re doing when it comes to signings, photo ops and panels.

Creation suggests that fans sign up for their email list for guest announcements and information about tickets and signings as it becomes available.
