Oh Cheryl

This is a bit of a tricky one because although it was a stand out finny scene this season, we know how it turned out, and it wasn’t great. But let us not let the future take away form the glory that is Cheryl.

Oh Cheryl we barely knew ya! While Dante was dishing out his comedy skills to grease the wheels of infiltration (in more ways than one) only one woman in Alexandria was ready to out-barb and out-sass the Whisperer spy come Doctor lovin’ and her name was Cheryl.

She may not be as young or fit or physical as the likes of Michonne or Rosita, but boy did she have the fight and the mouth to put Dante in his place.

In the opening scene in “Bonds”, Dante is dishing out his favored brand of flirtation as a shortcut to acceptance, whilst examining poor sickly Cheryl. But a bad stomach isn’t going to stop Cheryl’s sharp tongue, and when he tries to curry favor by suggesting they’d make a bitchin’ couple, Cheryl is quick to let him know she’d “break him like a twig.”

We guffawed, we cheered, and when Cheryl later died at Dante’s hands, we wished him a horrific eyeball eating parasite death for that reason alone.
