2. Scavenging a satellite

Season 10 blasts off with an old soviet satellite crashing down to earth in a fiery blaze. Eugene knows how much invaluable technology could be on board said satellite and convinces the others to not only go to the crash site to put the fire out it has caused, but additionally scavenge whatever they can from it in hopes to find some use for it.

That kind of technology is nearly nonexistent nowadays within the apocalyptic world they have all been living in for nearly the last decade. The importance of the potential parts which could be found at this crash site could be considered as important and valuable as the “A Key to a Future” booklet we received from Georgie many years prior.

This satellite ends up yielding quite a few useful parts which allow Eugene to boost the radio communications at both Alexandria and Hilltop. He was able to boost the radios at Hilltop to a range that allowed him to reach farther than ever before and yield a potential ally and new friend.

Sadly, it appears as a result of the attack on Hilltop, the majority of the Barrington House was destroyed in the fire resulting in most of the radio equipment being lost because he was unable to carry it out at the last minute. Though they may have lost some of their equipment, Eugene already has his meeting scheduled with Stephanie.

So the journey which Yumiko, Ezekiel, and Princess have accompanied him on will not be for fruitless. It’s about time our survivors had a stroke of good luck and met someone that can actually be helpful to them whether individually or through the alliance with other potentially communities.

If all goes well, this could most definitely lead to the conclusion of the war against the Whisperers without too much additional friendly bloodshed on our side.
