Michonne

Fans said goodbye to Michonne in season 10, but her legacy will live on through Judith and RJ. Like Carol, Michonne was a mother before the apocalypse and she lost her son Andre to walkers early on in the apocalypse. Losing her son was a pivotal moment for her, and it wasn’t until she met Rick and Carl that she discovered a new family.

Carl and Michonne quickly formed a close bond, and it wasn’t long before Rick and Michonne also became close. (Fans will never, ever forget the moment Jesus walked in on them…) Together, Rick and Michonne, also known as Richonne, were a formidable force in the apocalypse as they worked to make Alexandria and the surrounding communities a better place after All Out War. After Rick’s disappearance, though, life became tough for Michonne. She’d been pregnant when Rick “died” and she has raised Judith and RJ by herself in his absence.

As a mother, though, Michonne is formidable. She treats Judith like an adult, listening to her daughter’s thoughts and opinions and teaching her the importance between right and wrong. It’s not surprising that Judith is Michonne’s mini-me, complete with her own katana.

Michonne might not be around after her departure in season 10, but thanks to her incredible efforts, her daughter and son will keep her memory going until they can all be reunited again, hopefully with Rick.
