Salute to the moms of The Walking Dead Universe – Mother’s Day 2020
Madison Clark
Madison Clark would do anything for her kids, and in season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead fans learn that she made the ultimate sacrifice when she put herself in mortal danger to save Nick, Alicia and Strand, giving them the precious time they needed to escape the stadium.
When fans first meet Madison Clark, she is a guidance counselor at a Los Angeles high school. She’s known for being a no-nonsense administrator with a heart. Like so many educators, her day doesn’t end when she leaves campus. She has an addict son and a responsible daughter who needs her, along with her partner Travis and Travis’ son, Chris.
When the apocalypse breaks out, Madison transforms into Mama Bear Madison. Whereas Travis tries to be the voice of reason, Madison shoots first and asks questions later. When it comes to protecting her kids, she will do whatever it takes to keep them safe, from working with the despicable Jeremiah Otto and befriending his troubled tyrant of a son, Troy, to brokering deals left and right to ensure that her family had a place to call home.
By season 4, she thought she had the perfect home at the ballpark, where life had been going strong for a year when the Vultures arrived. Charlie’s betrayal hurt, but deep down Madison understood what the girl was dealing with because she, too, had lost people.
Alicia is the last remaining member of the Clark family left standing. (Of course, we never saw Madison’s body, so she could be out there somewhere!) Alicia, like Judith, honors her mother with every decision she makes. Thanks to Madison’s hard work building a solid foundation for her daughter, Alicia is stronger than ever.
Losing Madison was a blow that fans did not see coming, but there is no question that her legacy lives on.
These women have all made lasting impressions on The Walking Dead Universe. Without them, things would not be the same, and the TWD Family is grateful for everything they did, have done and continue to do.
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the moms out there!
