The Rural Diaries lands at No. 5 on the New York Times Bestseller list.

Life on Mischief Farm has captivated the nation as The Rural Diaries: Love, Livestock and Big Life Lessons Down on Mischief Farm lands in the No. 5 spot on the New York Time Bestseller list. Hilarie Burton Morgan wanted to capture the essence of life on the farm with her family, and in doing so she created a story that has captured the hearts of readers.

By all accounts, Burton has been keeping busy while staying at home over the course of the past few months. Between sewing masks for healthcare workers in need to starring in AMC;s new hit show Friday Night In with the Morgans with her husband, The Walking Dead star Jeffrey Dean Morgan, life hasn’t slowed down for the mom, actress, advocate and author.

She’s also quick to point out that life on a farm means that life never truly slows down, even when you want it to. There are always chores to be done and mouths to feed, but life on the farm is a life truly worth living. That’s the backbone of her charming story about her life on Mischief Farm.

The Rural Diaries follows the story of the Morgans’ lives on a sprawling farm and sanctuary in upstate New York. It’s not always a glamorous life, but the payoff is huge as the Morgans’ children Gus and George get to grow up with their animal friends. Burton shares recipes and gardening tips along with anecdotes about small town living and her personal struggles with infertility.
