Season Six: Ron tries to attack Carl while walkers invade Alexandria.

Thinking of a “worst decision” in season six was tough for me.

Do I go with the group underestimating the Saviors? I could, but…with Alexandria running low on supplies, and them not having much time to rescue Craig from the satellite outpost (And, therefore, no time to really scout the Saviors), it isn’t so much a bad decision as a bad set of circumstances.

What about Rick letting Sam go with him, Carl, Michonne, Jessie, and Ron, instead of Father Gabriel? I was going to do that, but…no one knew what Carol had said to Sam, and therefore, no idea how seeing a walker kid (Which they couldn’t have predicted anyway) would affect him.

And then, as I was thinking about that, it hit me: Ron trying to attack Carl.

Right after that, I remembered something else from season six: Ron…was a jackass.

Seriously! There were thousands of walkers all across the town, he couldn’t have picked a better time to try to settle his beef with Carl? I mean, with so many walkers around, it wouldn’t have taken Nostradamus to predict that trying to attack Carl might cause noise, and might have drawn the herd’s attention!

Now, while the group underestimating the Saviors, obviously, caused a higher body count in the long run, as decisions go, Ron’s was easily the worst. Had I gone with Rick letting Sam come with him, I could have sat here and said that decision caused the deaths of Sam, Jessie, Ron, and caused Carl to lose his eye, but, if you think about it, you realize that that decision never would have even come up had Ron not forced the situation that led to it in the first place!

Originally, Rick planned on wearing a walker cloak, getting to one of the communities’ cars, and luring the herd away, but, because of Ron’s stupidity, Rick was forced to take everyone with him, leading to Sam eventually freaking out, getting eaten, Jessie freaking out (And also getting eaten), Ron shooting Carl, and Michonne killing Ron. So, basically, Ron wound up getting his whole family killed, and shooting out Carl’s eye.

Smooth move, kid.

P.S.: Special mention for “Bud” deciding to threaten Abraham, Sasha, and Daryl. When half the Saviors, including Negan, basically say that they were surprised they didn’t get blown to smithereens a lot sooner, I think it’s a good idea of just how dumb it was to act like that much of a hardass in a zombie apocalypse.
