7. Floating (1997)

Those who enjoy stories about individuals overcoming adversity while trying to keep their heads above water emotionally and financially will be in for a real treat in this Norman Reedus film that is over two decades old.

In the film, Reedus plays a character named Van. Van is growing up in a tough situation where his father is a bitter alcoholic following a diving accident that left him struggling to keep the household afloat after his mother’s exit.

Some of the things Van has to do in order to hold down the fort for his family are kind of crazy and things get even more complicated when the location they are using for their business venture is no longer accessible.

Watching Van do anything he can to not only do what is best for himself but try to connect with his father makes for an interesting movie, but Floating sadly had a low production value and featured some raw acting that kept it from becoming a hit.
