5) You have to put in the work.

I’ve always heard the phrase “God helps those who help themselves”, and I think, in a zombie apocalypse, that is especially true.

You might have noticed so many of the previous entries are about what you ought to be doing to prevent having to rely on miracles in a zombie apocalypse. This is because, honestly, if you aren’t doing everything possible to survive and defeat whatever force is coming to destroy…you won’t.

You have to make every effort possible to ensure you survive. You have to pick where you go, you have to figure out your game plan, you have to prepare for whatever’s coming, and you need to fight, distract, or drive them away. You are the linchpin. If you’re not bothering to fight for your life, you can’t expect anyone else to turn around and do it for you.

I don’t want anyone to misunderstand: I’m NOT SAYING that I don’t believe in miracles. I do. But, I learned a long time ago that God is not a genie. He doesn’t just grant wishes as you sit around expecting everything to get done for you, you have to do everything you possibly can do to succeed.

Anything less, and, well, you don’t have anyone else to blame but yourself for what happens…
