Chandler Riggs is all grown up as The Walking Dead alum hits a major milestone

After growing up before fans’ eyes on The Walking Dead, Riggs is celebrating a milestone birthday on June 27 as he turns 21. Though much of the country is still in the early phases of reopening, there is no question that Riggs will find a way to celebrate his big day.

Riggs stole fans’ hearts as young Carl Grimes on The Walking Dead. From the very first time he appeared on screen with his blue eyed innocent gaze, everyone who watched him knew that he was someone to root for.

Riggs injected his own spark into Carl’s character. Carl had to grow up very quickly in the zombie apocalypse, and in his own way Riggs had the same experience as he learned how to navigate fame from an early age.

The world of The Walking Dead did not hold back just because Riggs was a child. Carl had to help deliver his sister and then kill his mother. He struggled with finding the balance between right and wrong in the middle of the chaos. His humanity and moral compass became the guiding light for Rick and Michonne, and eventually Judith, long after he was gone.

Though the television version of Carl Grimes didn’t survive the apocalypse the way his comic book counterpart did, Riggs remains one of the most beloved members of the cast and fans are always eager to find out what he is up to. Conventions might be off the table for the foreseeable future, but Riggs enjoys sharing his many adventures with fans through social media. He’s active on Twitch and Twitter, too, so he’s never far from his fans.

For his part, Riggs doesn’t disappoint. Whether he’s buying a flamethrower from Elon Musk or renting out the guest house in the Los Angeles home, or starring in new movies and television shows, Riggs has remained busy since leaving The Walking Dead and his schedule shows no sign of slowing.

Happy birthday, Chandler Riggs, from all of us at Undead Walking!
