9. Weeds (2005)
Movies and TV shows about drugs always tend to get a lot of attention. Whether it is the manufacture, distribution, or use of substances, those types of series often have a long and interesting life on television.
Weeds was no exception to the rule. The Showtime program centered around growing and distributing marijuana gathered a huge following and allowed it to run for eight seasons and have great appearances by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Martin Short, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and many others.
JDM’s character in the show was unfortunately named Judah Botwin and he only appeared in two episodes (episodes 102 and 106). Botwin designed roller coasters for a living, loved his wife Nancy, son Shane, and lapdances at the strip club.
The most interesting note from Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s time on Weeds is that a relationship started with the show’s star Mary-Louise Parker with the two becoming engaged before their eventual split. There is little doubt Weeds had a big impact on the actor, but it wouldn’t be where he found the love of his life.
