4. Grey’s Anatomy (2005)
To this day, mentioning Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s role on Grey’s Anatomy can bring hardcore fans of the show to tears. Picturing his character Denny Duquette resting in his hospital bed as a relationship blossomed between him and Izzie Stevens, played by Katherine Heigl.
Danny shows up in the show’s second season as a patient waiting for a heart transplant under the care of Preston Burke. With the clock ticking on his window for surgery, some of the hospital personnel go to drastic measures to attempt to bump him up the list to get a donor.
High drama ensues and moments get very emotional as the charming man not only develops real feelings but starts to look at the positive side of what his life could be if he is able to finally get the procedure done.
JDM’s run lasted for 23 episodes on the ABC hospital drama, but odds are that this is the role that gave the actor an even bigger fan base and showcased a softer, gentler side of his acting repertoire. Even if you’re not a fan of medical shows, his work in this show is well worth watching.
