10 great shows or movies to watch featuring Jeffrey Dean Morgan

6. Walkaway Joe (2020)
On paper, Walkaway Joe doesn’t have a lot going for it other than having a solid cast led by Jeffrey Dean Morgan and David Strathairn. The plot is somewhat flimsy and those hoping to see a tight, entertaining film might be let down.
Considering it is the directorial debut of Tom Wright, the film lacks the polish that could have helped it make up for its other shortcomings. However, there is still quite a bit to take away from this recently released film.
JDM plays the role of Cal McCarthy, the father of a 14-year-old boy named Julian who is known for working pool halls as a hustler in Louisiana. That activity isn’t something Julian’s mother approves of and Cal’s frustration causes him to run away and befriend a stranger named Joe.
The performances of Morgan and Strathairn are the major reason to tune in to this otherwise disappointing film. For a movie that could have gone extremely wrong, it is a good thing they made the right decision in casting those two actors.
