AMC’s hit Friday Night In celebrates three month anniversary
Friday Night In with the Morgans has become a massive hit for AMC Networks
What started as a way to bring people together during a worldwide pandemic has now become an incredibly inclusive space for thought-provoking conversations about important issues in addition to seeing how celebrities are dealing with being stuck at home. Friday Night In with the Morgans hosts Hilarie Burton Morgan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan have welcomed fans into their home for three months and we hope that the show continues for a long time.
It’s hard to believe that so much time has passed, but Friday Night In with the Morgans first debuted on April 17. It’s now July and the show is holding strong.
Friday Night In with the Morgans has really been the place to be on Friday nights. Like Bravo’s Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Friday Night In is fast becoming the place for AMC family members to check in and say hello during the pandemic.
From Angela Kang to Norman Reedus, Colman Domingo to Lennie James and Paola Lazaro and many more, Friday Night In has seen several members of The Walking Dead Universe on the guest list and they keep coming.
After three months, though, what began as a way to entertain fans stuck at home has now evolved into a place to discuss important issues. The Morgans came together with their friends Colman Domingo and Yvette Nicole Brown to discuss the Black Lives Matter movement amid the protests over the death of George Floyd.
Now that it has grown beyond entertainment, there is hope that AMC will keep the show going as long as the Morgans will play host. Perhaps, when they grow tired of the job, the show can move to another member of the AMC family. Unlike Talking Dead, which is focused on The Walking Dead and its spinoffs, Friday Night In is a show with universal appeal. It’s like being invited to a friend’s house for a dinner party, and that’s a big part of the show’s appeal.
As Friday Night In with the Morgans celebrates its three-month anniversary, we look forward to many more episodes with guests from across AMC Networks and The Walking Dead Universe, and we thank Hilarie Burton Morgan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan for inviting fans into their homes every Friday.
