Six unanswered questions about Fear TWD season six

3) Who are The Pale Riders?
Man, I really wish I had a picture of these guys to show you, because their masks remind me of Ghostface from Scream…and I love it.
Regardless of whether I can show it to you or not, the fact remains that, through much of the trailer for season six of Fear The Walking Dead, we see Morgan’s group being plagued by groups of exhausting enemy equestrians emphatically enacting evils upon our exasperated heroes.
Who are these people? Are they enemies of the Pioneers that Morgan’s group is forced to fight at Virginia’s behest? Are they the cause of the explosions we see at the oil field later in the trailer? If they are, the group having to go fight them would make a certain amount of sense. As we saw last season, the Pioneers cover a pretty wide area, and, it stands to reason that Morgan’s group aren’t the only one they’ve gotten on the wrong side of. It would also make sense that, after being forcefully absorbed into the Pioneers, that the group are forced to do some of the more dangerous jobs for them, like battling a group of ghostfaced weirdos terrorizing the roads in-between the Pioneers’ outposts.
That’s just one set of possibilities, however. Another is that their story arc comes after the Pioneers are (Presumably) defeated. If that does happen, are the The Pale Riders specifically targeting Morgan’s group? Why?
And then, there’s just some general questions that arise from their appearance in the first place: If they’re big enough to challenge the Pioneers, how come Morgan’s group didn’t encounter them last season? Are they based out of Mexico? New Mexico? Is Qaletaqa part of their group? We haven’t seen him in ages, so why not find an excuse to throw him back into the mix?!
You see? Simply having The Pale Riders appear at all raises a whole bunch of questions that, sadly, their appearance in the trailer does nothing to answer.
