The Walking Dead Fan Rewards Club announces closing date

Many fans of The Walking Dead have been collecting points for digital and physical rewards but that promotion will be coming to an end.

Viewers of The Walking Dead were excited when a rewards program based on the popular AMC shows was announced two years ago. Since then, many great prizes and experiences were claimed by those accumulating points to redeem.

Some of the prizes were items used on-screen in AMC’s zombie drama while other rewards included signed posters, Comic-Con experiences, and other things related to the popular zombie drama shows.

Sadly, all good things come to an end. On Friday, July 24, the official website of The Walking Dead Fan Rewards Club announced on its website that the program was shutting down for good in the future.

Here is what they had to say:

"“Effective September 26, 2020, The Walking Dead Fan Rewards Club will no longer be available. Until then, you can continue to earn points through August 10, 2020 and redeem points on digital rewards, merchandise, and sweepstakes until September 14, 2020.”"

This is a sad development for fans who have been faithfully accumulating points and waiting for something they really wanted to become available in the store. Sadly, new products and experiences haven’t been added to the rewards list in some time and many fans likely have quite a few points accumulated.

Since the end date is Sept. 26, that does allow some time for AMC and the Fan Rewards Club to add some rewards for fans to spend their points if that is the route they want to take. There is also no word on any alternative to the club to take its place once this program ends.

*UPDATE: An email from the TWD Fan Rewards Club send on 7/24 confirmed that more items will be made available as the summer goes on, so be sure to continue to check the website so you don’t miss out on great items.

Thank you to The Walking Dead Fan Rewards Club for allowing fans to have some amazing experiences and obtain some great items based on the AMC show. However, it is saddening that such a great program is coming to an end.
